Transfer Music and Photos without wires
Yes, a high speed wireless transfer device built into the Sony Memory Stick. Obviously the technology is by Sony. Nothing proprietary for now as there is a consortium over seeing this.
What is it?
TransferJet technology was Sony’s answer to wireless transfer of music and photos between devices. You tap two devices together and the data is transferred. Imagine taking tonnes of photos and just tapping your laptop containing the transferjet chip, to transfer all the photos. Simple and hassle free. Gone are the wires.
Basically a close proximity wireless device with a range of just 3cm. The range is more than enough as most likely you will place your gadget just next to the other gadget. No security concerns either the range is too small any hackers or nosy neighbour has to be kissing your gadget to be of any harm.

When
Sony has already announced the Memory Card for sale and is taking pre-orders now. Soon you will see Sony Camera and laptops integrated with the TransferJet. Toshiba is jumping on to the bandwagon too.
From what I understand Sony DSC TX7 and Sony Vaio F Series will sport the technology. Not too far, Canon and other favourite gadget makers of yours will be integrating it into their devices.
Even before wireless USB becomes popular this will be taken up and be very popular with gadgets like camera, portable music and video devices. All I have to do is place my camera and music player near and reader for my PC and all necessary photo and music is synced or transferred.
I will be following this technology pretty closely and will update the blog.
