Next PC Show in Singapore
Coming up is the final IT Show of the year. I suppose it should be much more crowded with huge discounts as the holiday season is approaching. Hopefully it will discounts to save on my purchases.

What am I getting?
I banned myself from attending to the past two IT shows trying to avoid unneccesary expenditure. I had already spent my moolah on the Mac (not regretting). This time around I have a few things to purchase.
- Network Attached Storage – Probably I will get the one from Cisco. I will have to insert 2 drives and mirror them. Yes this is for my backup. I need to offload it from my PC as I have some linux and Windows experiment coming up.
- Hard drives for the NAS – Two 1 Terabyte drives most likely
- DDR2 1066 RAM – 2 x 2GB to upgrade my PC with the upcoming installation of 64bit OSes
My existing 3GB slow RAM will be pushed to another PC that will be set up for my mom. I have spare motherboard and CPU lying around. - Some mid range Graphics card
- Mid range CPU casing
- Power supply – I shall stick to Cooler Master brand
- Mouse and Keyboard
- 24 inch LCD monitor – maybe order from Dell.
Will push my existing 19inch for my mom
I have not budgeted for the above items. Will be putting aside some money from my salary to get these items. If budget does not permit, I will have to cancel my NAS and hard drives. Setting up the PC for my mom is much more important as she will stay sane finding interesting articles online.
Why you ask? My sister and her 3 kids will be going off to India for 2 months. My mom is taking care of them right now and the PC might be the way to keep her busy when the kids are gone. Other than that she can now find good recipes to cook for me delicious stuff. She is a great cook, now for more delicious stuff to eat.
