Have you had issues where you cant boot up your PC when you have your external USB Hard drive plugged in? System just hangs at boot screen and goes into a continuous reboot?

If  you are sure there is nothing wrong with your external drive then you can use this tip.

imageLegacy USB mode is used to support older USB1.1 devices. Most devices nowadays are USB 2.0. If you are sure you don’t have any devices with USB1.1 specification go ahead with disabling this feature.

To resolve your problem just disable the Legacy USB mode.

To go to your BIOS screen, reboot your PC. At the initial screen hit Del or F1 key to go the BIOS screen.
(Most BIOS keys are default to Del key. Check your manual to see what is your special key to enter the BIOS Setup)

Go to the ‘Advanced BIOS features’ menu and find something that says ‘USB support’. You will see an option to disable Legacy USB. Once done Save and Exit and reboot PC.
