Here are some tech updates of the week.


 

Applet Tablet

We have seen netbooks making a huge entry. With the low cost and long battery life it was just what most people were looking for. But Apples own netbook like product was no where to be seen.

Now, Steve Jobs, himself secretly has been overlooking this Apple Tablet Computer. Expected to have 10-in screen and 3G enabled. Read on at cnn money.

Windows 7

On 22nd July, Microsoft announced that their Windows 7 OS was done and has been Released to Manufacturing.

[arstechnica] Who gets it when?

OEMs will be the first to get their mitts on the final Windows 7 code, with the English-language version being sent out on July 24 and remaining languages on July 28. They’re first in line as they need to prepare Windows 7 for new PCs. Next up are ISVs and IHVs, who can grab the RTM build from Microsoft Connect and MSDN on August 6, as can MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Volume License customers with Software Assurance are next, with the English-language version available to them on August 7 and other languages shortly thereafter.

IE Emergency Patch

Microsoft will rushing out some patches again. You guys are still using IE? Trust me use Firefox or any other browser.
