Firefox 3.5 Released
If you are firefox user than you should upgrade to Firefox 3.5. You will see some noticeable difference.
Firefox 3.5 was released yesterday, 30 June 2009. It has great enhancements and some noticeable differences that you have been waiting for. More reasons for firefox to take over a bigger share of the browser market
I have used it since the Release Candidate and it is one worthwhile download.
Speed
As promised by Mozilla, this Firefox 3.5 is definitely faster and you will notice that immediately. Pages load much faster. All this due to the new TraceMonkey Javascript engine that is being used.
Memory Management
Firefox has always been bogged with this problem. If you load alot of tabs and surf sites without closing the browser now and then, firefox will use up much of the RAM and slow down.
I dont know about others but I still face this problem. The improvement seems to be, I can open more that 15 tabs before firefox slows a little. Memory wise it seems good as the fox releases memory efficiently.
Features
Private Browsing – This has been called the porn mode. Yes, porn mode! Users of firefox can surf the web without an ounce of dirt left on your PC. Basically it leaves no caches or cookies while you are in that mode.
Activate this option by clicking Tools >> Start Private Browsing (Control+Shift+P).
I can think of one other mode. Internet Banking and such.
Clear History – Clear past few hours of web surfing activity? You can do that simply click on Tools >> Clear Recent History. Select the options required and let the browser forget what you did the past couple of hours.
Tabs – Tab browsing has been improved.
First thing you will notice is the new tab button that is readily available. Previous version we had to manually add the icon to the toolbar or click Tools >> New Tab
Tabs can be moved out of the Window to create a new Firefox window and between Windows with ease.
Bookmarking – Click the star to bookmark. Two clicks and you can choose to the save in which ever location you choose.
Concluding
Overall a great improvement on performance and feature. These are the features I will be using often, I think you guys will do the same. The rest of the features can be read here.
