Firefox crashes on wordpress upload

Have you encountered this annoying crash?

I use wordpress for this blog and have been encounter frequent crashes whenever I click on the image upload button. It seemed to work fine on Internet Explorer 7 and Google Chrome. Being a Firefox fan and user, I wanted to find out what is causing the issue.

Knowing Firefox makes use of many extensions to enhance it, I launched Firefox again in safe mode. Tried the upload function and no crashes. So obviously an extension issue. While going through the the Add-ons, I saw Google Gears which I am not using. Wanting to try each extension at a time, I disable Google Gears and restarted Firefox. Walah! no issues any longer. What a luck.  Googling for info I found many forums confirms the latest version of Google Gear is causing this problem.

If you are facing this issue, just disable it.

- Go to Tools >> Add-Ons

- Click the Extensions

- Look for Google Gears and Disable it

Yes! This was kinda luck based trouble shooting.
