Netbook trademarked

27 February 2009 1 views No Comment

Interestingly, the term we often use to describe the small, lower powered portable computers, is trademarked. Yes, ‘ netBook’  is trademarked by a company named Psion which is trying to stop websites and companies in using this term.

We, as the general public use the term freely describing a subset of the notebook – a smaller low powered, extrmely portable device.

Dell started off petitioning  against the trademark to the Patent Office. Now, Intel has joined in too. Read here and here.

Come on, Psion, give it up in goodwill will ya!
